Kjersti began her career in physiotherapy in 2011 after graduating from the University of British Columbia Master’s of Physical therapy program, where she also completed her Bachelor’s of Human Kinetics degree in 2009.

After graduation, Kjersti took the opportunity to gain as much practical experience as possible in a variety of in-patient and out-patient settings. She also dove into continuing education courses such as, the Integrated Systems Model, theManual Therapy Levels, Functional Dry Needling, STOTT and Balanced Body Pilates – Mat, Reformer, and Rehab based courses.

In 2015, Kjersti was looking for a new direction in her practice and decided to take a weekend course in Women’s Health. She was immediately hooked on learning everything she could about this niche area of practice which specializes in care for people across the lifespan affected by a variety of issues related to the pelvic floor muscles. Kjersti had the fortunate opportunity to learn from some of the leading experts in North America and has since completed numerous courses specializing in prolapse, pain, incontinence, and pre/post partum topics.

Kjersti is one of the few pelvic health physiotherapist in the Okanagan that is trained in using a Real Time Ultrasound to assess the deep abdominal and pelvic floor muscles. This tool is highly effective at assessing and treating Diastasis Recti, assessing core strength and other pelvic conditions.

While the pelvic floor is an essential area of her practice, Kjersti believes in an integrated, whole body/person approach to physiotherapy. Everything is connected! So whether your back is sore from working at your desk or you are struggling with stress incontinence, Kjersti is happy to help you reach your goals.

You can find Kjersti running around after her two small children, working in her garden and running long distances around Kelowna.
